Douglas County Register of Deeds Office Migrates to Cloud with DocLanding’s DocCenter
DocLanding, Inc. May 9 announced that the Douglas County, Nebraska Register of Deeds Office migrated its documents to the DocCenter cloud-based document management platform. The migration has enabled the department to save money and provide residents with access to documents more quickly. “For some time, the Register of Deeds office had wanted to provide users with online access to our images,” said Diane Battiato, Douglas County Register of Deeds. “By doing so, we knew it would provide an opportunity for users to realize important savings in time and money. Thanks to DocCenter’s state-of-the-art services, we now offer our web-based Premium Services package to our users. Access to our images is easy and efficient.” Timothy Campbell, CEO of DocLanding, said, “With cloud-based document storage and management, huge file rooms can be eliminated. The time spent finding and retrieving documents can also be dramatically reduced. Even agencies that have been converting files to electronic images can make efficiency improvements if they use a retrieval system that enables full-text search.” The DocLanding platform offers document storage on a private cloud with 128-bit SSL encryption for upload and download, Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) for data storage, and controlled-access SAS70 II Certified Hardened Data Centers servers. SAP AG May 9 announced the availability of the SAP Situation Awareness rapid-deployment solution for public sector with SAP HANA and cloud-based service to Jump-Start SAP Rapid Deployment Solution. The new services provide a real-time situational awareness solutions for operational public safety and security officials who are on the ground dealing with major incidents, serious crime and emergencies. The SAP Situational Awareness rapid-deployment solution for public sector with SAP HANA allows police and first responders to predict and act on emergencies in real-time by improving the available information. SAP HANA is able to accommodate massive amounts of incoming public safety data and key events can be analyzed to better identity risks, threats and consequences. The SAP mobile platform delivers this information to police officers and first responders on the ground, helping them to better anticipate and respond to rapidly evolving situations on mobile devices. The SAP Rapid Deployment solutions are out-of-the-box solutions of pre-configured software and fixed-scope implementation services. The solutions are designed for customers to go live in under 12 weeks in order to help lower the cost of implementation and speed time to value, while retaining the flexibility to extend the solution wherever needed. And the Jump-Start SAP Rapid Deployment Solution is designed to utilize cloud to overcome hardware and infrastructure hurdles that often delay the start of projects. It is a cloud-based quick start for rapid-deployment solutions that allow customers to begin a project in the cloud with their own data before infrastructure and hardware investments have been made. Locus Technologies Awarded GSA Schedule 70 Contract to Provide Cloud-Based System to Manage Environmental Data
Locus Technologies May 7 announced that it has been awarded the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) General Purpose Commercial Information Technology Equipment, Software, and Services Schedule 70 Contract Number GS-35F-0370Y to provide the government with a centralized cloud-based system to manage environmental data. The GSA contract will allow Locus to offer EIM and ePortal software through a simplified acquisition channel to federal, state, and local government agencies across the country. Because most environmental data is not submitted electronically under legacy systems due to technical limitations of the current platforms, management of environmental data is an urgent need for the government. Under the contract Locus will manage environmental data at government agencies like the Department of Defense, Department of Energy, OSHA, or NRC, and manage large environmental, sustainability, and compliance data streams submitted by private industry to regulating agencies such as the EPA, NRC, or DOT. Locus will help these agencies to receive more data electronically and to manage and organize those huge environmental datasets that are currently scattered among many different systems through use of the company’s Environmental Information Management (EIM) service. Aquilent Adds Amazon Web Services GovCloud To GSA IT-70 Schedule Contract
Aquilent May 9 announced that it has added Amazon Web Services (AWS) AWSGovCloud (US) to its GSA Information Technology Schedule-70 (IT-70). This addition to Aquilent’s GSA IT-70 Schedule will provide government agencies access to Amazon’s FISMA compliant FederalCommunity Cloud: AWS GovCloud (US) Region along with Aquilent’s cloud-centric offerings including cloud strategy, architecture, migration, support, security, and application development.
